Installing the app, signing in with your account, push notifications, and what the app leaves to the web
Availability
The Android app is on its way to Google Play; an iOS version is not planned for launch. Until the listing is live, use the web app on your phone as described first.
Install the web app on your phone
The web app installs like an app and shows the same digests:
- Open Settings on your computer and find the card Owly Post on your phone.
- Scan the QR code, or open app.owlypost.com on your phone.
- iPhone: Share, then 'Add to Home Screen'. Android: browser menu, then 'Add to home screen'.

The Play Store listing is being published. This section will carry the link once it is live.
Sign in with your existing account
The app uses the same email and password as the web. Creating an account in the app works too; you still confirm your email through the link in the mail, which opens on the web, and then sign in on the phone.
Finish Owl training
A new account runs Owl training in the app in four steps; the subscription is handled on the web. Existing accounts land straight on their digests.
Push notifications
When a digest is sent, the app can tell you: Your owl has arrived — This week's digest is ready to read. Tapping it opens that digest. Allow notifications when the app asks, or switch New digest push on under Account. Switching it off, or signing out, removes this phone from the list; nothing else is sent.
What the app does
- read your digests, with the same verdicts and ratings as on the web,
- Owl training for a new account,
- Topics, Sources, Delivery and Preferences, the same settings as on the web,
- Account: change your name, push notifications, sign out, and delete your account.
What the app leaves to the web
- Anything about paying. No prices, no trial countdown, no upgrade button. Subscribing and cancelling happen at app.owlypost.com; see Trial and subscription. An account whose trial ran out shows Your owl is resting. with everything kept safe; the email you received has the link.
- Changing your email or password. Both are confirmed by email and done on the web; the app shows your email read-only.
- Ask your AI. The paste box from Owl training is left out on a phone; text you already added on the web is kept.
- Offline reading. The app needs a connection.
